September Enrichment Night!

Enrichment Night has come and gone this month.

We had a nice turn out and 3 door prize winners!!!
Sister Vivian Fulton won the Stationary Set, Sister Sybrina Westmoreland won the manicure set, Sister Kyra Davis won an FHE game/lesson, and Sister Mary Helen Mertz won a pedicure set :D
Thanks for being there on time ladies!
More prizes next time!

To start the Evening Bro. Chris Westmoreland came and talked to us about the importance of a Will. Ways that they can be done (written) etc. He told us of things that needed to be in them
Name, Date, Beneficiaries, etc. He talked about Trusts and how to use them in your Will.
Overall, VERY informative, and interesting. I really wish I would have had a notebook! I'm not even grazing the surface of what all he talked about. He did an excellent job!

We then had Bro. Michael Stuteville come and talk to us about how to get out of debt. He had 2 books with him. The Total Money Make Over and Financial Peace. Both books by Dave Ramsey.
(If you click on his name it will take you to his website)
He taught us about the Debt Snowball, and how to apply it in our situation.
He used the Budget form found in the All is Safely Gathered In pamphlet.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many resources on it's website. Click on the link for the pamphlet.

He walked us through the "baby-steps" that Dave Ramsey suggested. He talked about the importance of couples being on the same page when planning budgets. He did an excellent job.

Because the evening went so well, Sis. Rachel Arnold just shared a table of FHE lessons that were up for grabs, and had many resources available.

The night wouldn't have been complete with out refreshments!
Sis. Debra Norris did the refreshments using different raw foods. She had some DELICIOUS black bean dip, a fresh salsa, multi-grain chips, tortillas, grapes, and some apple slices with peanut/flax-seed peanut butter. She will have the recipes for us on Sunday and then I will post them here for everybody to see :)

We want to especially thank our visitors for taking time out of their schedules to come teach us about these things. And also our Nursery volunteers! Thanks guys! (Bro. Spencer Olsen, and Bro. Mark Fulton) Thanks for supporting the Sisters and allowing them to attend this meeting!

For those of you who couldn't make it we missed you. Hope to see you at the next one!

Since this is public I have a suggestion? You could define Relief Society for non-members so they know why we care so much about this stuff. smile. Great job!
