Thoughts on General Relief Society Broadcast

It was a wonderfully inspirational meeting. We heard from all the General Relief Society Presidency, as well as Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

I will leave a few comments from each speaker that struck me. I would love to have you share your thoughts about the conference too, so we may edify each other :)

Julie B. Beck (General Relief Society President):

Now is the time for Relief Society to fulfill its purpose as never before

Our 3 Responsibilities:

1 Increase Faith and Personal Righteousness
2 Strengthen Families and Homes
3 Serve the Lord and His Children

We Need To:

Seek, Receive, and Act

Be still and quiet enough to hear the voice of the Spirit...then Act on it.

All Women, no matter the calling are connected to the purpose and responsibilities of Relief Society.

Let Relief Society be your "mother" with its Powerful Spiritual Leaders

Silvia Allred (General Relief Society Presidency 1st Councilor):

She reminded us of the importance of Temple attendance. The Temple is a sacred place. As of now there are 128 LDS temples in operation.

Receiving all ordinances in the House of the Lord enables us to return to Heavenly Father.

Stand Ye in Holy Places. The Temple is a House of Learning. The more we attend the more we learn, and understand.

Prepare NOW to enter the temple. Return as often as possible. Be WORTHY of a current temple recommend.

Be Faithful in Making and Keeping our Sacred Covenants.

Barbara Thompson (General Relief Society Presidency 2nd Councilor):

We should devote ourselves to Relief Society. It [Relief Society] is not just a class on Sunday. We need to teach one another the gospel of Jesus Christ. Teach by the Spirit and allow ALL to be edified.

Step up. Be Strong. Set the example of Righteousness. Do something Extraordinary today. Be a Mighty Force for good.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (2nd Councilor General Presidency):

We are daughters of our Heavenly Father. We have Infinite Worth.

We need to focus more on what is accomplished and Who we are...
Not our imperfections.

Your spirit body is a masterpiece. We all have talents and gifts.
Don't let the fear of failure discourage you.

Start small. How many smiles can you create? Seek to adorn your minds with all the Lord's Graces.

Work will cure your grief...Serve others. We are surrounded by opportunities to serve. Use them.

Draw close to Him in Faith, Hope and Charity.
Happiness is Your Heritage!

There was so much more that was talked about. I couldn't write fast enough to get everything. Add your thoughts or feelings to what I have written, or add things I missed that you caught.

You ARE daughters of Heavenly Father, He Loves you. Don't let Satan tell you otherwise!
